In our last DMC class, our professor introduced us to a website called multimediashooter.com. The video above is just one of the several amazing videos this site has to offer. I came across an article entitled “8 Rules, Awesome Videos and Inspiration Galore!” on their homepage and was fascinated at what I found. Among the many videos, I found one particularly interesting.
Mutlimediashooter.com explains how ” [The] Conductor turns the New York subway system into an interactive string instrument. Using the MTA’s actual subway schedule, the piece begins in realtime by spawning trains which departed in the last minute, then continues accelerating through a 24 hour loop. The visuals are based on Massimo Vignelli’s 1972 diagram.” You can check out the actual video by clicking on the still shot of it below.
I, as a continuously learning communication student, realize how much time and effort was put into this project. And for this, I must thank the Conductor for creating this awesome video for the world to see.
